Ernakulam Govt. Medical College Mother and Child Super Speciality Block, a state-of-the-art facility specially designed for mother and child care, was inaugurated by the Honorable Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Smt. Veena George.

Funded by the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB), the project was completed at a cost of ₹286 crore and houses 850 beds and 16 operation theatres.

Hon. Minister for Industries, Law, and Coir, Shri. P. Rajeev, presided over the function in the presence of Hon. Minister for Finance, Shri. K.N. Balagopal, the chief guest; Leader of the Opposition, Shri. V.D. Satheesan; and Ernakulam MP, Shri. Hibi Eden.
